A little bit of dust…

Do you believe in faeries? Not the sweet little Barbie-like perfect winged creatures created by Hollywood. No. Real faeries. Do you believe?
I have this absolute fascination with the fae. I read everything about them, follow blogs about them. Collect them. I have many hanging from the roof in my little cottage. I’m in love with the Froud fae because that is how I would imagine them.
I have met many fae on meditational journeys and danced in faery rings with them in my dreams. But actually, meet one….. Maybe.
A few weeks ago I was meditating as usual under our beautiful lush green Wishing tree. The lower branches are wrapped in colorful ribbons of wishes send to Mother Earth. Lanterns of all colors play among the leaves and the soft whispers of water dancing around the Buddha’s knees filled the air.
During the meditation, I was playing with the fae in a far off forest. Running through the trees. A tree spirit caught my curly hair and captured me for a while. I playfully removed the hold and rushed after the fae, running over the streams. I disappeared in the otherworld for a long while and returned to reality with a blissful sigh.
Much later in the day, someone asked what I had in my hair. On closer inspection, I found a beautiful shining silver leaf braided into my hair. As I pulled to try and get it out it softly dissolved into a soft silver dust. I send it to the wishing tree, in a puff of kisses and gratitude.
Do I believe in Faeries? Of course, I do. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of dust. Do you believe?

What will they find there ??

The legendary, mythical Hy-Brasil, the phantom island of Ireland could possibly make an appearance in the final book of ARACH.  Hy-Brasil  appeared on ancient maps as early as 1325.  On most maps, it was located off the west coast of Ireland.  In Irish myth, it was said to be clouded in mist except for one day every seven years when it became visible but still could not be reached.

What will our gang find there? What will they do there? Find out more at  www.readarach.com  or www.mgschoombee.co.za

Listen !!!

“Really, you have come this far on this journey and you still do not believe that trees can talk. Trees talk, bushes talk, flowers talk, even the subservient grass we are sitting on talks. You do not listen.”

New and old friends gather in forgotten realms to fight the darkness rising over our earth. The sun grows weaker day by day preparing for the end of times. A giant wolf regrets the role he has to play. Blood flows into the starving earth. The dead rise to slay those in their way.

Will Raphael and his warriors be able to fight the massacre of all beings? Will they stop the devouring of our earth? Can the hidden realms and our world stand together? Do they want to? Will they?

My soul yearns for Ireland.

Since I can remember I had this yearning to go to Ireland. I love the green hues dancing among the hills. I’m intrigued by the myths and legends of the fae and lost kingdoms of Ireland. I love the music. I adore the men. I love their accent. I had plans on going for a few years, but life happened, and it got put off till a rainy day. Next year is looking very promising for rainy days, hoping that life keeps itself in control. This yearning has also gone into my ARACH series. I set the epic tale of Arach in Dublin, Ireland. This brought many hours of research for the right spots and the awesome legends to bring to life in Arach. I found many interesting places and tales I did not know of.

Ireland has mystery embedded in the grains of sand covering the emerald isle. There are various tales of fae sightings and legends of the wee folk. The Tuatha De Denann, the fae folk of Ireland, as recently reported in the Sunday Times, inspired even Tolkien. We must, however, remember that these fae are not the Tinkerbell of Peter Pan or the modern day fairy tales of Hollywood. These fae were more human like with superpowers. The Children of the goddess Danu. Kind of like the Elves of Tolkien.

I want to drive down the tiny lanes and green lush fields in search of faery trees. Trees that none would dare to take out. Usually, in the middle of a field, it’s roots protected with stacks of rocks and most probably covered in ribbons. A ribbon for each wish made to the fae. My wishes will definitely adorn many trees in Ireland.

I don’t want to visit the usual tourist places, no I want to go to the littlest of villages, meet the local people. Hear their tales and legends. Hear the stories untouched by modern man’s technology. Then go and search for them. Climb down that mossy, slippery stream with nature chirping it’s glorious song to Gaia. To search for that quick glimpse of something behind a tree, or the melody of a soft song playing among the leaves.

Ai! A dream for now I suppose, but to wake up from that dream in the lush green hills of Ireland, with the laughter and singing of the fae in my ears. I will have a smile as wide as a rainbow, Leprechaun gold dust in my hair and many fae footprints in my soul.
